M13
(2025)
M13 is a modular pair of headphones designed for an exhibition exploring data as a mirror of identity and conformity. Conceived as a speculative artifact from a possible future, M13 reflects how humans adapt to shifting technological and social landscapes. Inside the ear piece sits a removable, magnetically attached baby-like face, intentionally non-gendered figure, symbolizing the data that translates one’s self. The transparent molded plexiglass shell reveals the device’s inner structure, portraying a certain vulnerability, and the visibility of the “self” within systems that increasingly shape who we become.

In response to the M13 headphones, mini_M13 are a extension of the headphones. Developed as a response to the larger modular design, this scaled-down iteration continues the exploration of data, identity, and conformity, transforming the headphone form into a more compact, object-like expression. It reinforces the concept of identity being mirrored, reduced, and reinterpreted through different formats.
