Loading refers to the thought of the machine, a transitional moment during which the system analyzes, calculates, and prepares a response. The title refers to this in-between state, the passage from input to output, shared here by both parties – human and machine.
During this experience, the visitor is invited to engage with an interactive video. By choosing their own path in a series of digital environments, visitors will experience moments of reflection, which mirror the machine’s process of information. Furthermore, is it possible to uncover the biases of this process through simple binary questions? What makes a person choose one path over another and what makes a mechanism give out a certain type of output rather than another? Brief flashes of the unit’s calculations are revealed at the beginning and the end, exposing the momentary alignment between the visitor’s reasoning and the system’s.
At the end, as a result of these calculations, the visitor is being given a data sheet – representation and summary of their decisions.
